| About The Artist |
|
Grandpa was a contractor and master cabinet maker whose family migrated from Denmark, he believed in hard work.
Joe was raised with a strong work ethic helping Grandpa on many projects.
Learning to make the very tools he needed and how to build things that would last a lifetime or more,
these are the skills Joe uses in the creation of his art.

The vision is all Joe’s unique and whimsical blend of natural components function and fun.
Growing up in Salt Lake City along the Wasatch mountain range, Joe saw the beauty of the rocks,
with his association with blacksmiths throughout his life, he learned the
strength and durability of both. Forging the metal and watching the glow as a piece was turned to the
right angle in the fire and then to turn hard with the billowing clouds of stem as it was plunged in the water.
The perfect piece of stone tilted and supported by the metal becomes a one of a kind functional sculpture that
surprises and delights.

Joe has been building benches, chairs, tables, trellises and so many other marvelous things.
He loves sharing his talent with others. Yellow Dog Enterprises is named for our yellow labs,
Beauregard U. Rascal, Sweet Maggie Mae, Amber Muffin and Foxie Roxie who all share in the creations.
